"If there were a moral to this story, it would be that Rob Robinson and his organization, Forever Outdoors not only takes people such as myself on these amazing trips, but also children, veterans and anyone who needs to get back to nature. Rob's care and dedication is unmatched with both organ donation and the great outdoors.."

Forever Outdoors is a non-profit organization that promotes organ donation and saves lives. But that isn’t the only goal of this organization. Rob also goes above and beyond to help people such as myself that is a paraplegic born with Spina Bifida which leaves me bound to a wheelchair to get around. Not only that but many health issues and surgeries over 35 years of my life. With that said, that doesn’t stop me from enjoying myself and getting into Gods country and outdoors. 5 years ago Rob and myself met by phone call through some more friends and we shared a fellowship back and forth.  We juggled around some dates about when we would be going on our hunting trip. The first date we scheduled, we couldn’t make it due to a family illness, I guess that’s just God working in mysterious ways once again. Long story short, I was able to setup a hunt on a great friends place, Rob and myself met up at my dad's house at the time and Rob drove us out to my buddies place in Clay County, Ms.

After I unloaded and my gear was organized. We setup in the stand and all the while, just talking and getting to know a little more about each other.

The next thing I knew, Rob spotted a nice, 3-year-old, 9-point deer walking down the middle of our greenfield. Rob set up his iPad while I focus on the deer and watch it for a short while. As the deer gets into my comfort range, we whistle and I yell out to the deer to get its attention. The deer stops broadside at about 100-125 yards away.

Now I've got him in the scope and I squeeze the trigger. The deer mule kicks and runs into the woods. Rob leaves to track it and when it's located, he brings it out into the field. I called a buddy of mine, Wallace Weems and ask him to help us get the deer out.  We did get the deer out and took some pictures and then we headed out to the skinning shed. We cleaned it up and got it ready to bring to the Taxidermist.

If there were a moral to this story, it would be that Rob Robinson and his organization, Forever Outdoors not only takes people such as myself on these amazing trips, but also children, veterans and anyone who needs to get back to nature. Rob's care and dedication is unmatched with both organ donation and the great outdoors.

"This was more than a single act of kindness"

I first met Rob in a hospital room in 2012. He had just donated a kidney to a landowner who had let him hunt his farm for turkeys. I was writing a story for The Kansas City Star and I expected Rob to being exhausted from the ordeal. Instead, he was wearing his customary smile as he described giving back to someone who had helped him. I immediately liked the guy. But this was more than a single act of kindness. I later found out that Rob established Forever Outdoors, which encourages organ donation and treats donors and the people whose lives they save to special fishing and hunting trips. What a great program!

I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease when I was 14 years old.

I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease when I was 14 years old. My kidney disease was caused by Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE); an inflammatory disease that causes the body to attack its own tissues. My diagnosis was quick and I started emergency dialysis immediately.

After doing dialysis treatments for 3 years, I was told that I had regained enough kidney function and I no longer needed dialysis. Words cannot express how overjoyed I was.
Although I dealt with a lot of health issues, I was able to be off dialysis for a little over 22 years when my nephrologist told me that my kidney function was declining and I would have to start dialysis again in the near future. I was devastated when I got the news, but I knew that I needed to be proactive. I told my nephrologist that I wanted to go ahead and start dialysis again.

After starting dialysis for a second time, I knew that this was not how I wanted to live. Hooking up to a machine everyday was not my idea of “living life”, so I began to look into receiving a kidney transplant.

After being on dialysis for a year and 4 months, I finally received the call that has changed my life. I would be receiving a kidney from a deceased donor. July 15, 2017 is a day that I will never forget. My wait for a kidney was finally over and I owed my life to a total stranger. Words cannot adequacy express my gratitude to my donor and donor family. My life has forever been changed, and I am so grateful for my gift of life. “Organ donation is a tragic-beautiful thing”. I’m able to enjoy life because someone said yes. What an amazing act of love!

"Please consider being an organ donor and joining Forever Outdoors so that lives can continue to be changed and saved."

My name is Keith Wright and I’m from Waycross Georgia. I met Rob back in 2016 by the way of my brother. He had called me to see if I wanted to go on a veterans hunt with Forever Outdoors, an organization that Rob Robinson started.

I’m a six year veteran with the United States Navy and decided that I wanted to go on this hunt, so I contacted Rob and we talked over the phone about the details. I told Rob that I was a kidney transplant patient who had received a kidney back in 2009. Rob Robinson who is a kidney donor and I had a lot in common. The hunt fell through however Rob and I became close friends just through talking. While building our relationship talking over the phone, Rob explained to me how Forever Outdoors was an organization that he started for donors and recipients of organs to promote Organ donor’s. Months went by and Rob called me about taking a young boy Hunting who is confined to a wheelchair. Rob drove up from Mississippi, stayed at my home and we took a young man name Bill Jr on a turkey hunt, where he killed his first turkey. Rob and I have been close friends ever since the day of that turkey hunt. Since then, Bill Junior, Rob and I have had several trips together both hunting and fishing.

Rob has poured his heart and soul into this organization because he cares so much about people. I go on some mission trips with eight days of hope during the year and have become an ambassador for the organization of eight days of hope. I had the opportunity to take Rob on a mission trip in Panama City Florida to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We had such a great time serving that instead of being a blessing, we received the blessing. Our friendship continues today as we look forward to serving our Father in heaven. Please consider being an organ donor and joining Forever Outdoors so lives can continue to be changed and saved.

"The smiles and laughter that were made that day lasted for a while, but the bond and memories Mr. Rob and Andrew made will last a lifetime."

Andrew is the loving 20-year-old son of Steve and Rose Mary. Andrew has down syndrome. He resides in Philadelphia MS where he was born and raised, has an older brother and sister, and is the proud uncle of his niece Scarlett Rose.

Andrew has enjoyed the many wildlife outdoor adventures such as, fishing and elk hunting, but his most favorite outdoor enjoyment is deer hunting. He started this wildlife game hunting experience in 2011 where he killed his first eight-point buck. The overwhelming excitement on his face overjoyed everyone, but we know as the family of Andrew it excited us even more. You see, when he was born in October of 1999, the doctors did not give much hope for a down syndrome baby. Some doctors believed these babies couldn’t or wouldn’t amount to anything in life, let alone becoming an avid deer hunter. But we knew God was bigger than him being born with downs.

As we have had a great adventure in this life of a child with downs, we can’t thank God enough for giving us our very own personal, special tour guide through this life. We also, have encountered many wonderful and gracious people such as, Rob Robinson, that have offered to take him hunting to give him the experience of a “normal” life and we are forever thankful for him and for taking the time up with Andrew to help him take down a white tailed five-point buck in the hunt of 2018. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The smiles and laughter that were made that day lasted for a while, but the bond and memories Mr. Rob and Andrew made will last a lifetime.

First kidney donor in the state of South Carolina

In December 4, 1968, I donated a kidney to my brother, William (Billy) Ashley. Being the first in South Carolina, it was a little different. They removed both his kidneys before the surgery. I was in the hospital only a few days. Billy was there about 10 days. After being home for a couple of months, he went back to work in my father's grocery store. I went back to finishing my studies, and working in a textile plant. Sixteen months later, I had a son, and 19 months later he had a daughter. Giving saves lives.

Making a difference.

My name is Tyler Dawkins, and during a time where I was dealing with severe anxiety and depression I was contacted by Rob Robinson, creator of Forever Outdoors.

I had just lost my great grandmother and was struggling to cope with the loss, but the outdoors has a way of healing and helping those who are struggling.

After I learned about the goal of Forever Outdoors and went hunting and fishing with Rob, I began to really understand just how much his organization could help others who are going through difficult times.

I have truly been blessed to be one of the many people that Forever Outdoors has helped and I know there will be many more to experience the great times and memories that come from being apart of Forever Outdoors.

What does this mean to me?

Forever Outdoors

What does this mean to me? I have to go back a few years to a hunt in early November that took place outside of West Point MS. I was helping get some youth hunters out into the outdoors for a whitetail deer hunt.

These youths came from centers that they were assigned to, due to being separated from parents in a bad situation. As we do, we like to incorporate an emphasis on God and the outdoors and of course safety is paramount.

As we went into the time of pairing up the youth hunters with adult hunters and land owners I met, Rob aka, ”Bobcat”. Bobcat and I had the same vision that day and it was a truly memorable hunt. I know God’s love was shared to all that day. But it also was the beginning of a brother like lasting relationship for Bobcat and I, including many outdoor opportunities. And I know God will allow us to engage in many more.

As I got to know Bobcat I began to see his servant heart being played out daily. I really envy him sometimes because his mind is always about getting others into the outdoors.

Another thing he shared with me was a passion to help those that were in need of transplants to stay alive. He didn’t just believe he actually lived it. I’ll let him share that testimony with you. As we talked about organ transplants he shared with me how important Forever Outdoors is to him. He also is making moves to try and grow this God sent ministry to be able to reach out to include many more as the needs are great.

Rob truly understands that the harvest is ready and he truly is one of the few. I pray that doors will open and God’s plan for Forever Outdoors will be able to move ahead to help those in need. God Bless you all and I hope to see you outdoors.

The real deal.

My name is Joseph Williams. I am a 25 year veteran of Grenada, MS Fire Department. My whole life I was blessed with great health and stayed in pretty good shape which enabled me to help others in my job.

I began feeling short of breath during normal activity and noticed my feet and legs were swelling some so I knew something wasn't right. In January 2019 I went my primary care physician in Grenada MS and he determined I was having issues with my heart function. He therefore referred me to a cardiologist and an oncologist in Oxford,MS. My heart was in good condition with no blockages but knew it wasn't functioning properly. They ordered special blood testing and the results were not good. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (blood cancer) and Amyloidosis (gives of Amyloid Protein). The Amyloid was depositing in my heart causing thickening of the walls not allowing it to expand and contract all the way. I was then referred to specialists in oncology and cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and began chemo to get the Amyloid in remission.

Months passed and numbers steadily decreased until it was finally in remission. However, the damage it had done to my heart was irreversible and I was in dire need of a heart transplant and was put on transplant list in mid October 2019 . Within 2 weeks they had found a match (God worked a miracle). On October 30, 2019 I had heart transplant surgery. Everything went well and after a few very rough days I began to improve and get stronger each day.

Within 2 weeks I was discharged from VUMC to a Hospitality House in Nashville where I stayed around 6 weeks to go daily appointments and physical therapy. Everything fell into place and I continued getting a little stronger as I had lost over 80 pounds during this ordeal.

The week of Christmas I was blessed to be discharged from the Hospitaly House and able to come home. I continued my cardiac rehab when I got home 3 days a week until Late February 2020 and was progressing well .
God blessed me with another chance , organ donation gave me another chance. I have been enjoying the great outdoors and was able to take my 14 year old twin girls to DisneyWorld in early March.

Rob from Forever Outdoors contacted me and said hey let's go fishing. He and I have known each other all of our lives and he was a fellow firefighter in Starkville MS. He and I were blessed to be able to go wade fishing several times at Grenada Lake and Enid Lake two of the best Crappie Lakes in the World.

Rob is a great guy, he's an organ donor himself donating a kidney to his friend in Kansas . What a blessing for all of us to have people like Rob and others that are organ donor! What a great organization Forever Outdoors is to raise awareness of organ donation, sign people up to be donors, and allow us to enjoy the great outdoors. Organ donation saved my life!

Sometimes this Outreach is the last resort and saves lives.

I met Rob Robinson, at a NWTF Youth Turkey Hunt in Hawthorne Fl. His passion to help others was evident the first time I met him.

Rob told me about a Mission he was on called Forever Outdoors. Forever Outdoors is a faith based Outreach Ministry that helps Organ Transplant Patients, Veterans, and other folks that might not necessarily make it to the Outdoors to enjoy what God has created.

Rob and many other willing souls have changed the lives of many people through their relentless effort to follow God’s calling. Forever Outdoors reaches out to people like myself in an effort to see if someone is willing to allow a participant to Hunt or Fish in places where success rates might be higher than just public land. Rob and his volunteers do an amazing job pairing up those participants, landowners and guides to ensure a great time is had and lasting memories are made. Sometimes this Outreach is the last resort and save lives, Forever Outdoors is a great program.

Rob Robinson and Forever Outdoors are amazing.

It was just about a week ago that a friend suggested that we contact Rob.

Rob Robinson and Forever Outdoors are amazing. It was just about a week ago that a friend suggested that we contact Rob. I had read that his organization, Forever Outdoors, did hunting and fishing trips in addition to promoting organ donation.

My husband needs a kidney transplant now and has a willing donor who is not a match. So I didn’t know what to say to Rob since we didn’t need a fishing trip and are not donating a kidney. We told him how we were doing. Then he called back and asked for our phone number and said that he’d pass it along to another organization, Donor to Donor. I spoke with them. And within 24 more hours we are now looking at a paired kidney donor exchange at one of the top transplant centers in the country mediated by Donor to Donor.

Thank you Rob for facilitating this process. This is nothing short of a miracle. God bless you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. We’re looking forward to one day thanking you in person and doing some fishing with you.
